Grinding and Polishing Tools Involved in Sheet Metal Processing

A series of grinding and polishing tools are needed during sheet metal processing, so prepare them in advance.

1. Angle grinder in sheet metal processing

①The installation of thousands of blades in sheet metal processing can perform welding spatter grinding, surface bumping and scratching, welding seam reinforcement grinding and processing height grinding, etc.;

②The stainless steel bowl brush can be installed in the sheet metal machining to polish the weld, and the main function is to remove the oxide scale in the welding area. There shall be no defects such as cracks, weld bumps, burn-through and arc pit trachoma. After polishing, the welds shall not have surface pores, slag inclusions, arc craters, cracks, arc scratches, sparks and other defects.

2. Straight shank grinder in sheet metal processing

The tool can only perform the pre-weld grinding of the weld. The main difference from the angle grinder is that the grinder can obtain the same texture as the weld.

①The straight grinder can be installed with rotary files, emery cloth wheels, etc. according to needs;

②The installation of taper rotary files in sheet metal processing can be used to polish weld joints, polish defects in small spaces, polish deep scratches, polish processing allowances in narrow spaces, and polish local fine grinding, etc.;

③Installing the emery cloth wheel can be used for small-space grinding and polishing, rounded corner polishing, etc. which cannot be done by angle grinders.

3. Scraper-a common operating tool in sheet metal processing

The scraper can remove edges, corners and burrs, and smooth the corners of the workpiece.

4. The role of polishing machine in sheet metal processing

The polishing machine is mainly responsible for polishing stainless steel products into a shiny surface or welding parts with cloth wheels during the sheet metal processing. Before polishing, the surface of the product needs to be sanded to prevent a matt feeling. After polishing, the welding surface must not have pores, slag inclusions, arc craters, cracks, arc scratches, sparks and other defects.
