What is Electroplating Process in Sheet Metal Processing

Sheet metal processing technology - electroplating is the process of plating a thin layer of other metals or alloys on the surface of some metals using electrolytic principles. It is a process of using the electrolytic effect to attach a layer of the metal film to the surface of metals or other materials and then to avoid metal oxidation (such as rust), improve wear resistance, and improve wear resistance. Conductivity, reflectivity, corrosion resistance (copper sulfate, etc.) and improvement of beauty. Many coins are also electroplated.
 
In electroplating, the coated metal or other insoluble materials are used as anodes, the workpiece to be plated as cathodes, and the cations of the coated metal are restored to form the coatings on the surface of the workpiece to be plated. To eliminate the disturbance of other cations and make the coating uniform and firm, the solution containing the metal cations on the coating is used as the electroplating solution to keep the concentration of the metal cations on the coating unchanged. The purpose of electroplating is to change the appearance or scale of the substrate by coating it with metal. Electroplating can enhance the corrosion resistance of metals (coating metals mostly use corrosion-resistant metals), add hardness, avoid wear, improve conductivity, smoothness, heat resistance and beautiful appearance.
 
Sheet metal processing technology - electroplating is divided into hanging plating, barrel plating, continuous plating, and brush plating methods, mainly related to the size and batch of parts to be plated. Hanging plating is suitable for general scale products, such as bumpers of automobiles, handlebars of bicycles, etc. Barrel plating is suitable for small parts, fasteners, washers, pins, etc. Continuous plating is suitable for batch production of wire and strip. Brush plating is suitable for partial plating or repair. The electroplating bath contains acidic, alkaline and acidic and neutral solutions with chromium mixture. Whatever coating method is chosen, it should have a certain degree of universality with the plating bath and hangers touched by the products to be plated and the plating bath.
